Duties

A position is now open for a dedicate, curious, creative, candidate to synthesize nanofibers and fibrous membranes for filtration applications using electrospinning technique. Material characterization and data analysis, such as SEM, will be also performed to sample quality check. The candidate will be trained to operate industrial and lab-scale electrospinning machines and is expected to operate the tools independently after training. The candidate will also support other new material development tasks and help program lead with day-to-day jobs to ensure effective and efficient program operations. The candidate needs to be self-motivated and work well within a team as well as alone, have good troubleshooting abilities, and good communication skills are important.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a graduate program in Materials Science/Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or similar.
  • Familiarity with electrospinning process is an asset.
  • Hands-on experience in a laboratory environment.
  • Knowledge of chemical solution preparation and materials synthesis.
  • Familiarity with material characterization.
  • Ability to work well within a team as well as alone.
  • Abilities in oral and written communication.
